Hello! I'm Richard Warner. I come from a military family where I spent half my childhood years overseas in Europe and Asia. I saw and heard a wide variety of sights and stories, moving frequently to locations with vastly different cultures. This taught me to value how other people see the world.

As I grew up, I loved to draw and make people laugh. I also received a heavy sprinkling of technical knowledge from my father, who worked in digital communications. When it came time to search for a career path, Computer Animation was spot on for my passions. I started my journey by attending the Academy of Art University, where I began my schooling as an aspiring animator. As I dove deeper into my learning I found that my strength lay on the technical side of computer animation, so I shifted my focus to rigging. I quickly jumped from the rigging introduction course to a studio environment, where I was the go-to person for writing up tutorials and procedures.

My career path took a different route than I imagined after college, but looking back I really appreciate the time spent working as a dock hand and small business manager. Those jobs gave me perspectives and toolsets that have served me well. A foundation of fitness, organization, and seeing the larger picture of systems has helped inform my outlook on work. Because of these experiences, I was well prepared when I picked up my current job at The Third Floor, Inc. where I oversee the pipeline support department and interface between the artists and developers to coordinate tooling and resolve technical issues.
